A new DigiTimes report today focuses on sending textbooks stating briefly that Apple plans to launch a new MacBook Air in the second half of 2022, coinciding with the time allocated by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman earlier this month.

Relevant quote from the report, quoting supply chain sources:

Apple’s MacBook series is a high-end consumer device, but can also be considered as a business book model as it is popular with many companies or office workers, sources have shown, adding that hot sales of the MacBook Pro released in late 2021 have entered.

The first quarter of 2022, with shipping volumes higher than expected, and the new MacBook Air set to launch in the second half of the year is expected to boost sales momentum.

The new MacBook Air will have a larger 13.6-inch display compared to the current 13.3-inch model, industry consultant Ross Young tweeted last week.

While many sources say the new MacBook Air will have an M2 chip with 8-core CPU and 9-core or 10 GPU options, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the notebook to keep the M1 chip, according to the list . with predictions he posted on Twitter in early March.

In an email, Kuo told MacRumors that the new MacBook Air could have a modified M1 chip, and although it has not been clarified further, further rumors of GPU cores are possible.

Kuo’s tweet said the new MacBook Air will also have a new design with more color options, and include mass production by the end of the second or third quarter of 2022. Unlike the latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, Kuo does not expect the new MacBook Air to feature a mini-LED display, which means the ProMotion is less likely to be.
